The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) released on Monday, June 12 a solicitation in which it outlined plans to issue a contract to a service-disabled veteran-owned small business to replace the windows in buildings one and two at the Syracuse VA Medical Center, located at 800 Irving Avenue in Syracuse.

The contractor who receives the contract also may need to complete interior work (e.g., improve/restore existing finishes) during the window replacement project.

The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this project is 236220, with a Small Business Size Standard of $33.5 Million.

The VA anticipates the value of the contract to be between $2 million and $5 million.

According to the solicitation, the contractor who receives the contract must complete at least 15 percent of the project (though can subcontract out 85 percent of the work, as needed), and all interested contractors who submit a bid for the project also must submit a 20 percent bid bond.

Responses are due by no later than June 20, and questions can be e-mailed to Contract Specialist Sandra L. Fisher at

The contractor who receives this contract also must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database and have as part of the Registration all current Representations and Certifications.
